Kardinia Health’s Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic

At Kardinia Health’s Pelvic Pain Clinic, we take a multidisciplinary approach that looks beyond physical symptoms to consider the emotional and social factors influencing each person’s pain. This holistic method recognises that pelvic pain is complex, requiring more than just medical treatments to achieve lasting relief.

Our team provides personalised care, giving patients the knowledge and tools to understand and manage their symptoms.

Persistent pelvic pain affects 15-25% of Australian women and people assigned female at birth, yet it remains poorly understood. As a result, our clinic bridges this gap by offering early intervention, expert guidance, and ongoing support tailored to each patient.

Our Aim

We focus on providing:

  • A Safe Space – A supportive environment where patients feel heard, validated, and understood.
  • Specialised Advice – Multidisciplinary, evidence-based care tailored to individual needs.
  • Individualised Care – Collaborative care plans designed to manage symptoms and improve well-being.
  • Support & Community – Group education sessions and peer support to foster connection and shared experiences.

Our Multidisciplinary Team

A team-based approach is essential to addressing the complex nature of pelvic pain. Pelvic pain is often influenced by more than just physical factors—emotional and social elements can play a significant role. Our multidisciplinary approach recognises that lasting relief comes from treating the whole person, not just the symptoms.

Our clinic brings together a range of healthcare professionals who work collaboratively to deliver comprehensive, individualised care:

  • General Practitioners (GPs) – Oversee your care, provide medical assessments, and manage treatment plans.
  • Pelvic Health Physiotherapists – Help manage pain through physical therapy and tailored exercise plans.
  • Pain Educators – Provide information on pain science to help patients better understand and manage their symptoms.
  • Psychologists – Offer mental health support, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed care.
  • Dietitians – Advice on nutrition and lifestyle changes to support pelvic health and symptom management.
  • Pelvic Pain Nurses – Offer regular check-ins, guidance, and ongoing support to overcome barriers to care.
  • Group Facilitators & Advocates – Lead group education sessions, fostering community and shared learning.
